2026 Municipal Election
The 2026 Municipal Election will see a change in the development of the voters list. Elections Ontario is taking over the responsibility for maintaining the voters list from MPAC. You can check to see if you’re on the list, add yourself to the list and update your address if you’ve recently moved.
Electors / Voters
A person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if, on voting day, he or she:
- resides in the local municipality or is the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant;
- is a Canadian citizen;
- is at least 18 years old; and
- is not prohibited from voting.
This is in accordance with Section 17 of the Municipal Elections Act.
2022 Municipal Election Results
The Official Declaration of Municipal Election Results is posted in accordance with Section 55 (4) of the Municipal Elections Act.

The Unofficial Certificate of Vote Results for Council is the document posted and available to the public on October 24, 2022 (Voting Day) in accordance with Section 55 (4.1) of the Municipal Elections Act. This identifies the number of votes for each candidate as well as the number of declined and rejected ballots.

2022 Municipal Election
Every four years, the Township of Ear Falls holds a municipal election for Council positions: a Mayor and four Councillors. The Township also facilitates the School Board Election, for school board trustees.
The Township used an Alternative Voting Method (i.e. Online / Phone voting) for the first time in 2022. A report on the statistical use of the system is available to the public here: Simply Voting – Election Final Report

Candidate Financial Statements
Every candidate or third-party advertiser must file a financial statement which reports their contributions and expenses. These are due by the last Friday in March following the election (March 31, 2022). These statements are made available to the public for review. They are available for inspection at the Municipal Office, and are posted online as they are received (below).
If you are an eligible voter and you believe, on reasonable grounds, that a candidate or third-party advertiser has contravened the election finance rules, you may apply for a compliance audit of the candidate’s or the third-party advertiser’s finances. Your application must be in writing and must set out the reasons why you believe that the candidate or third-party advertiser has contravened the rules. An application for a compliance audit must be submitted to the municipal clerk within 90 days of the filing deadline (March 31, 2022). Reports are listed in the order submitted.

Accessible Election Report
The Township of Ear Falls planned to provide the Municipal Election in a manner that was accessible in order to address the needs of electors and candidates with disabilities. This was primarily accomplished by using an Alternative Voting Method (Internet/Phone Voting). A copy of the report is available here: Accessibility Compliance Report 2022 – Simply Voting Inc
In addition to use of the Voting Method, Municipal Staff provided training and support to individuals including personal assistance voting at the Ear Falls Public Library and though at-home visits for those who were unable to attend the Ear Falls Government Building.
